2026 MG Hector Facelift Launched – New Design, Tech, and Competitive Pricing

2026 MG Hector Facelift

2026 MG Hector Facelift – JSW MG Motor India has officially pulled the wraps off the 2026 MG Hector Facelift, aiming to reclaim its throne in the highly competitive Indian SUV market. Known for its “feature-first” DNA and commanding road presence, the new Hector arrives with a bolder look, a more tech-heavy cabin, and a price bracket designed to disrupt the segment.

With an introductory price range of ₹11.99 lakhs to ₹19.49 lakhs, the 2026 Hector is positioned as a direct challenger to heavyweights like the Tata Harrier, Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Scorpio-N.

Bold New Exterior Design

The first thing that grabs your attention on the 2026 MG Hector Facelift is its aggressive “Aura” design language. The front fascia is dominated by the new Aura Hex Grille, featuring a sophisticated hexagonal pattern that gives the SUV a wider, more confident stance.

MG has also updated the front and rear profiles with Aura Sculpt bumpers, adding a layer of muscularity to its silhouette. Complementing this revamped look are the new Aura Bolt alloy wheels, which ensure the Hector looks just as powerful while stationary as it does on the move.

Tech-Loaded Interiors and Gesture Control

MG has always pushed the envelope with cabin technology, and the 2026 model takes it a step further. The center stage is occupied by a segment-leading 14-inch HD portrait touchscreen. This display is powered by Smart Boost technology, ensuring the interface is lag-free with smoother animations and rapid response times.

Perhaps the most talked-about feature is the i-SWIPE gesture control system—a first in its segment. This allows drivers to manage climate control, music, and navigation using simple two-finger or three-finger swipes, mimicking the intuitive feel of a high-end smartphone.

Advanced Connected Features and Safety

The 2026 Hector is designed for the digital age, offering a suite of smart connectivity tools including:

  • Digital Bluetooth Key: Unlock and start your car using your phone.

  • Key Sharing: Grant temporary vehicle access to friends or family remotely.

  • Predictive Maintenance: Real-time alerts to keep your SUV in top shape.

  • 360-degree HD Camera: Features a “Wheel View” for tyre-level visibility, making parking in tight Indian urban spaces effortless.

The driver’s cockpit is rounded off with a 17.78 cm full digital instrument cluster that provides all essential trip and safety data at a glance.

Reliable Engine and Performance Options

Under the hood, MG has chosen to stick with its proven and reliable powertrains. The 2026 Facelift continues to offer two main engine choices:

  1. 1.5-Litre Turbo Petrol: Delivering 141 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or a smooth CVT transmission.

  2. 2.0-Litre Turbo Diesel: Sourced from Stellantis, this engine churns out 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Currently, the diesel unit is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Note: While petrol pricing is out, the company is expected to reveal the full price list for the diesel variants shortly.

2026 MG Hector Price List and Variants

The new Hector is available in both 5-seater and 7-seater (Hector Plus) configurations. To gain a foothold in the market, MG has introduced “Introductory Pricing” for the initial batches.

Variant / Configuration Transmission Price Range (Ex-showroom)
5-Seater Petrol Manual ₹11.99 Lakh – ₹16.79 Lakh
5-Seater Petrol CVT ₹16.29 Lakh – ₹18.99 Lakh
7-Seater Hector Plus Manual Starting at ₹17.29 Lakh
7-Seater Hector Plus CVT ₹18.59 Lakh – ₹19.49 Lakh
